To apply for a for a Year 7 place at The Ebbsfleet Academy in September 2017, you must complete a Kent Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF), which can be found in the Admissions to Secondary Schools in Kent 2016 booklet available from your child’s Primary School. Our published Admission Number is 150 students. You can also apply online.
The completed application form must be returned by 31 October 2016 at the latest. This is a national closing date.
Application forms received after the deadline are considered 'late applications' which means they are processed last, so the chance of getting your child a place at your chosen school is significantly reduced.
Year 6 - 7 Transition
Once accepted for a place at The Ebbsfleet Academy, your child will undertake a comprehensive transition programme, aimed at making the change to secondary school as smooth as possible. The programme includes the Transition Coordinator visiting the students in their Primary Schools, the students visiting the Academy on 'Headstart Day' and family interviews with The Ebbsfleet Academy.
To make an 'In Year' application to The Ebbsfleet Academy for entry into Year groups 7 - 11, parents/carers should contact the Academy in the first instance. We will then make the necessary arrangements to process your application.
If we are over subscribed preference will be given according to the following Kent County Council criteria (for full details see the Admission to Secondary Schools in Kent 2016 booklet):
- Children in Local Authority Care
- Where the student has a brother or sister (birth, adopted or step sibling) currently attending The Ebbsfleet Academy
- Health and Special Access reasons. Children whose health or physical impairment means they have to attend a particular school
- Residence within a particular scheme of education;
- Proximity to the student’s home
