The Ebbsfleet Academy

December COVID-19 Update

I would like to start by thanking you for your continued support in helping to keep our community safe during these challenging times.  We have managed to keep Covid-19 cases within the academy to a minimum and we hope that this will remain the case in the coming weeks.

As the local area enters tier three restrictions we will need to continue to be vigilant.  Please continue to reinforce with your child the need to adhere to the Government guidelines, both within school and outside.  Face masks and sanitisers are both a compulsory part of the equipment list and students will be sanctioned for not having them.

Please click here for a reminder of what is allowed in Tier 3.

Government guidance and our academy risk assessment also indicate that where possible classroom doors and windows should be kept open to improve ventilation.  With this in mind, and also as the weather changes, please encourage your child to wear an additional layer of clothing under their shirt or wear a navy blue v neck school jumper under their blazer.  Students will not be allowed to wear coats in the classroom.  Students are also requested to wear proper face masks, as bandannas', scarves and snoods are not acceptable.  In the last week of term students may wear a festive facemask rather than a plain coloured facemask.

On the last day of term, Friday 18th December, students will be dismissed at 12.45pm prior to lunch.  Any student eligible for Free School Meals will be able to collect their food at breaktime.

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals please ensure that you complete the survey that was sent to you this week in order to guarantee you will receive £30 in supermarket vouchers to cover the Christmas holiday period.

We have set up a Food Bank within the school to support our most vulnerable families. If you, or a family that you are aware of, would benefit from receiving a donation from our Food Bank please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.  Every request will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.  Please email and a member of our team will contact you.

Our school community continues to heal from the events earlier this month.  All students within our academy can continue to access emotional support, provided by our pastoral team, and I am pleased to share that more bespoke 1:1 counselling with specialists will also be available in the coming weeks.  If you feel that your child requires additional support please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.

The student involved continues to make steady progress in his recovery.  Cards have been written and a collection has been gathered in school.  A present is being sent, on behalf of all the students and staff, to the individual in hospital.  We are also raising funds to support the work of the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance Kent Surrey and Sussex.  We have set up two fundraising pages.  By clicking on the link below you will be taken directly to our Just Giving page :-

Kent,Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust

South East Coast Ambulance Service

We would be extremely grateful if you felt able to support either of these good causes.  If you have difficulty making a donation online but would still like to contribute please contact

Please continue to take care & keep safe.

Yours faithfully,
