Place2Be Mental Health Awareness
Since its introduction to the Academy in March our Place2Be counselling service has been helping our students manage their mental health. By working with the team of Place2Be counsellors they are learning to connect with their emotions in the safety and comfort of the dedicated onsite therapy room, where they can feel in control.
Students are able to book appointments, be supported with one to one counselling, take part in group therapy sessions and also explore their feelings via creative art sessions.
This Mental Health Awareness Week we are delighted that we now have the resources to support our whole school community with students, parents and staff all able to access Place2Be. To get in touch with our team of counsellors just email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Place2Be team work in school on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
A student who recently used the service and was given the skills to talk about her worries said
"I was frightened to tell my parent how I was feeling, as I didn't want to worry her, and I didn't think she would understand. Now she knows, I feel relieved, and we can talk about it together" - A student who recently used the service
Every day we make a difference.
