Pupils say kindness is blooming great!
RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) Day
Well done to all staff and students involved in 'Kindness Week' on the last week of term and it's lovely to see their efforts acknowledged in the Gravesend Messenger this week ☺️
RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) Day was on Sunday 17th February. The academy turned this into a theme for the entire week, to raise awareness about the importance of kindness to others, and to encourage students to further develop positive relationships with peers. A number of activities were organised including staff and students beginning every lesson with thanking a person they never got to thank, hosting a sequence of assemblies from the Gravesend Lions (Lions International is a worldwide organisation of people who are working to improve the lives of those less fortunate), a 'Kindness Box' was made for the library for students to post notes of gratitude and ideas along with many more activities inspired by kindness. On Monday 11th February, students delivered daffodils and chocolates to local residents to demonstrate the important message of kindness and gratuity as well as to spread a little cheer and happiness - almost 100 gifts were randomly gifted!
