Home Learning
Home learning is paramount to embed and extend classroom learning. Students in Key Stage 3 will be given a variety of weekly topics, based around their knowledge organisers, which follow a home learning schedule. Home learning tasks will be completed in a home learning book which pupils take to each lesson. Subject teachers will check the quality of the home learning, as well as carry out weekly low stakes testing to ensure knowledge recall. Core subjects will set two pieces of home learning each week, whilst non-core subjects will set one piece of home learning each week.
At Key Stage 4, students will have home learning folders in which to keep their home learning books and related home learning tasks. Again, subject teachers will assess the quality of tasks, as well as assess the resulting knowledge on a weekly basis.
All home learning tasks will be set via Google Classroom so that parents and students can see what tasks are being set in each subject.
